		<description>I couldn't agree with you more.  There is always an effort to place blame, rather than accept responsibility.  Irresponsible lenders, to me, are the chief problem but not solely responsible.  The fact you could qualify to buy a home on "stated" income rather than having to substantiate proof is the underlying perpetrator.  No matter how much you earn, you should have to provide proof, IE tax returns and other certifiable means.

Unfortunately, the problems within the mortgage and housing industry are just symptoms from a much larger, systemic and societal dilemma.</description>
